Thad Morgan
Artist Bio
Thad Morgan was born a native to Louisiana. Unlike some artist, Thad never really got into the art scene at an early age. He received a degree from the Art Institute of Houston, afterwards continuously landing different jobs both related and unrelated to his degree. It wasn't until 1994 that he chose to try fine arts, finding that he had a unique skill with paint. His technique flourished into what he now calls "Modern Fauvism." It is initially based on the specific ideal of the expressive use of bold vibrant colours that celebrate spontaneity and vitality. With this, Thad uses the mobility, fluidity, and range of the weight that colours carry within their structures collectively creating melodic harmony. But the true validity of his work is the effect the work has on the emotions of it's viewing audience. Since Thad's success as a full-time artist, Thad has received much praise for his work, including displaying one of his works at the New York Billboard Premier in Times Square sponsored by Artist Wanted and See.Me in June of 2012, and being a finalist for Artist Magazine in the Portrait category.
Artist Statement
"My involvement with color has become very personal. The works I produce are visual experiences, harmony is something that is pleasing to the eye. It engages the viewer and it creates an inner sense of order, a balance in the visual experience.
The human brain will reject under-stimulating information. At the other extreme is a visual experience that is so overdone, so chaotic that the viewer can't stand to look at it. The human brain rejects what it can not organize and what it can not understand. The visual task requires that we present a logical structure. Color harmony delivers visual interest and a sense of order. So with that attempt comes an emotional connection, an intrusive moment between the audience and the art that becomes very unique and personal."
